The TIE Fighter (TIE is an abbreviation for Twin Ion Engine) is a space fighter from the Star Wars universe, first appearing on the silver screen in the 1977 film Star Wars Episode IV and subsequently appearing in many other parts of the space saga. The basic version of the TIE fighter is believed to have been approximately 6.3 meters long, approximately 6.4 meters wide and approximately 7.6 meters high.
