The Fiat 131 is an Italian lower-middle class passenger car, first presented to the public in 1974. Its serial production took place in 1974-1984. The Fiat 131 was equipped - depending on the version - with a wide range of engines with a displacement of 1.3 to 2 liters and a maximum power of 55 to 115 hp.
The 131 was developed almost from scratch as a completely new car in the company's offering, designed to increase its share in the lower-middle class car segment. The car uses a steel frame with the engine located at the front. The suspension, upgraded compared to previous models, was also based on MacPherson struts.
