The ultra-small submarine "Molch" (German salamander) was designed in early 1944 at TVA in Ekkemfjord.
The prototype was made before June 12, 1944, and on July 28 a production program was adopted, according to which it was planned to build 500 submarines. In total, between July 1944 and January 1945, 390 boats were built at the factories in Bremen and Lübeck.
