Description
When cargo ships arrive at their destination port thousands of nautical miles away, they still have a difficult stretch ahead of them. This is where port tugboats come into play, taking command and safely towing huge ships to the pier. Tugs do not take any cargo, but serve to rearrange and tow large tankers and bulk carriers. Small, strong, but very maneuverable ships have a very powerful engine from 250 to several thousand hp. Their command bridges are designed as tall superstructures to guarantee good all-round visibility for safe navigation in the narrow harbor area in accordance with their task. The stern, bow and side walls are mostly reinforced and additionally equipped with weaving.
