Zara-class heavy cruiser of the Royal Italian Navy. Laid down at the Cantieri Odero Terni-Orlando shipyard in Livorno on March 17, 1931, launched on December 5, 1931, commissioned on December 11, 1932. On March 28, 1941, in a battle near Cape Matapan, it was heavy damaged by a torpedo from the English torpedo bomber Swordfish. On March 29, 1941, she was sunk by a torpedo from the English destroyer Jervis at 35°18′ N. sh. 21°13′ in. d.
