KFK (German Kriegsfischkutter) boats are a series of small auxiliary ships built for the needs of the naval forces of the Third Reich during World War II. These boats performed the tasks of patrol and escort ships, submarine hunters, minesweepers, training ships and transports. After the end of the war, they were used for mine clearance and were used as fishing vessels. In addition, this was the largest series of ships ever built in Germany: out of 1072 units ordered, 612 ships entered service. After the war, the construction of these ships continued in the Federal Republic of Germany, the GDR, and Poland.
