The Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/7 Trop is a special modification of the German Bf 109E fighter aircraft, designed for operation in tropical conditions. This version was adapted for use in the North African theater of operations, where conditions could be particularly harsh on equipment. The Bf 109E-4/7 Trop was delivered to North Africa, where it was used in battles against Allied forces, particularly as part of Colonel General Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korps. The Bf 109E-4/7 Trop played an important role in air combat in North Africa. It faced Allied fighters such as the Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire and was used in support of German ground forces.
