The General Dynamics EF-111 Raven was developed from the F-111 Aardvark attack aircraft. The supersonic aircraft, with its characteristic variable geometry wings, was in fact recognized as a suitable platform for housing the electronic components required to effectively carry out the new assigned tasks. Thus, the EF-111 Raven became the standard for "electronic warfare" missions and was used in numerous operational operations in Libya, Bosnia and Iraq.
