The Sopwith F.1 Camel (Bentley) biplane was one of the versions of the famous British fighter of the First World War, produced by the Sopwith Aviation Company. This version differed from the more common model with a Clerget engine in that it was equipped with a 9-cylinder Bentley BR1 stellar engine, which developed a power of about 150 hp.
The Sopwith F.1 Camel with a Bentley engine was first put into service in early 1918. The Bentley BR1 engine was more powerful than the Clerget, which allowed the maximum speed to be increased to 200 km/h, improving dynamic performance and increasing the effectiveness of combat operations.
