The MiG-23 is a Soviet multi-purpose fighter with a variable wing configuration.
Designed to combat enemy aircraft in a wide range of altitudes and flight speeds and perform tasks for the benefit of the troops of the operational-strategic association. Some modifications of the MiG-23 are capable of hitting ground targets.
The history of the creation of the MiG-23 aircraft began in the first half of the 1960s, when the A. Mikoyan Design Bureau (OKB-155) began developing a fighter to replace the MiG-21.
It made its first flight on July 9, 1967, and entered service in May 1969.
