The Su-25 (NATO name: Frogfoot) is a single-seat, twin-engine, armored attack aircraft developed in the Soviet Union by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. It was designed to provide direct support on the battlefield. The Su-25 began as the T-8 project, the first prototype making its first flight on February 22, 1975. The basic version of the aircraft was manufactured in Tbilisi, Georgia. They were delivered to the 200th OSHAE at Sital Chai in Azerbaijan in April 1981. Between 1978 and 1989, 582 single-seat Su-25s were produced and served in the Soviet Union, while export Su-25Ks were operated in Iraq, Angola, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, North Korea, Peru and Slovakia.
