The Su-25 is a twin-engine armored attack aircraft developed in the Soviet Union by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. The first prototype made its first flight on February 22, 1975. The first aircraft was manufactured in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Su-25UB was a training variant developed in 1977. The first prototype, called T-8UB-1, was released in July 1985, and its first flight took place on August 12 of the same year. It was intended for training and evaluation flights of pilots in active service, as well as for training cadet pilots in flight schools of the USSR Air Force.
