Bell P-39 Airacobra was one of the main American fighters that was in service when the United States entered World War II. The P-39 was used by the Soviet Air Force, the largest number of enemy aircraft in the Eastern European theater of operations was shot down by the pilots of these aircraft. The P-39 was also used by the Free French Forces, the Royal Air Force, the United States Air Force, and the Italian Air Force on the Allied side.
