North American F-86 Sabre also known as Sabrejet - American subsonic jet front-line fighter, interceptor (with radar), fighter-bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. It was produced by North American Aviation and became well known as the first American fighter with a swept wing. It became one of the symbols of the Korean War, where it opposed the Soviet analogue MiG-15 in the first mass air battles of jet aircraft. Despite the fact that the Sabre was developed in the late 1940s and was already outdated by the end of the 1950s, this aircraft proved to be suitable for modernization and was operated in a number of countries until the end of the 20th century. In particular, it was in service with all NATO countries
