Northrop/McDonnell Douglas YF-23 is a prototype of a fifth-generation multi-role fighter, developed by Northrop Grumman and McDonnell Douglas. A total of two aircraft were built - PAV-1 "Gray Ghost" ("Gray Ghost") or the unofficial name "Black Widow II" ("Black Widow II") and PAV-2 "Spider". The YF-23 prototype lost in the competition to the YF-22, which entered service with the US Air Force in 2005.
