Nakajima Ki-84 "Hayate" is a serial army fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. One of the best Japanese fighters, which could compete with the existing Allied fighters, but in 1944, when it was adopted, the Japanese army completely lost its air superiority. Later, a significant part of the "Hayate" fighters were transferred to the reserve on the Japanese islands, limiting their use on other fronts in preparation for a possible Allied invasion.
In the "long" numbering of Japanese army aircraft, it was designated Army Fighter Type 4. The Allied code name was "Frank".
