A modernized wartime version of the ISU-152 was developed in 1956. It used a new engine, from the T-54, with a cooling system and a heater. The capacity of the main internal fuel tank was increased to 920 liters, which added another 500 km to the car's range on the road.
The gun had a maximum firing range of 13,000 meters. He received a new commander's cupola, as well as new sights. Many elements of the T-10 were used in the chassis. Modernization was carried out at the Leningrad Kirov Plant.
