PE-2 (Pedestrian aircraft, model E) is a Soviet twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft of the Second World War. It was developed in 1939 and was used in many combat operations, including on the Eastern Front. The PE-2 was known for its speed and maneuverability, making it effective in both bomber and assault missions.
The PE-2 in a ski variant known as PE-2SKH (snowmobile) was also used with RS-132 unguided missiles. This version of the aircraft was adapted for operations in winter tundra and snow conditions by replacing the landing gear with skis. RS-132 missiles could be suspended from ski reinforcements under the wings of the PE-2СХ, which made it possible to use the aircraft for attacking ground targets in winter conditions.
