Sky lanterns are wonders of Cathay ingenuity, used by the armies of the Sky Dragon to observe enemies from above and control troops in battle. Under the lantern hangs an armored gondola, from which one of the many magistrates of Greater Cathay uses fans and flags to signal troops or control the fire of the army's war machines. If enemy pilots or rocket troops get too close, pairs of crane gunners shoot from their exceptional vantage point.
