SU-152 (SU-152) is a Soviet heavy self-propelled howitzer during the Great Patriotic War. A 152-mm howitzer gun was installed on the chassis of the KV-1S heavy tank. Later production used the IS tank chassis and was redesignated ISU-152.
Because of his assumed role as an impromptu heavy tank destroyer, capable of knocking out the heaviest German armored vehicles - the Tiger and Panther tanks and the Elefant tank destroyers, he was nicknamed St. John's Wort, "beast killer".
