The Korean MBT K1A1 is an improved version of the K1 MBT weapons. Korea has produced about 1,000 K1 MBTs since 1987. The K1 has far more firepower, armor, and propulsion than the North Korean T-72/T-62 MBTs, but its 105mm rifle cannon firepower is not enough to meet the challenges of the 21st century. OBT. The K1A1 has a 120mm smoothbore gun, a licensed version of the M256 M1A2 MBT gun. The Texas Instruments HPTC fire control system provides superior firepower accuracy.
