German armored car Schwerer Panzerspähwagen Sd.Kfz. 234/2', known as the "Puma", was developed and produced by the German military during the final years of World War II. The vehicle proved to be an excellent combination of mobility, protection and firepower, built on the operational experience gained by the Wehrmacht in the early stages of the conflict. Beginning in 1939, the German Army used armored vehicles very effectively for forward reconnaissance missions and also as ground support for its troops. The Puma was originally a reconnaissance vehicle, but thanks to its 50 mm KwK 39 L/60 cannon it could be used just as effectively in offensive operations against infantry and other armored vehicles.
