BMP-1AM "Basurmanin" is a modernization of the Soviet infantry fighting vehicle BMP-1. It replaces the old combat module with a turret combat module from the BTR-82A, equipped with a 30-mm 2A72 automatic cannon and a 7.62-mm PKTM machine gun, and also adds the Metis-M1 anti-tank missile system. However, the improvements relate mainly to firepower and electronics, while the ballistic protection of the hull remains at the level of the basic BMP-1.
