M3 "Lee" (English M3 Lee) is an American medium tank of the Second World War period. December of the same year). A total of 6,258 M3s were produced in various variants. About 2/3 of the M3 produced was transferred to other countries, almost exclusively Great Britain and the USSR, under the lend-lease program. Also, until the more advanced M4 Sherman medium tank appeared in sufficient numbers, the M3 was the main battle tank of the US Armed Forces (although the term "main" was not yet used for tanks at the time).
