The Hawk T Mk 1 was developed by Hawker Siddeley, now part of BAE Systems, to equip the Royal Air Force training departments in the second half of the 1970s. Its aerodynamic configuration is characterized by two tandem seats and a low wing. Its Rolls Royce Adour jet engine guarantees good flight characteristics, which, combined with excellent maneuverability, makes it an excellent subsonic trainer. The Hawk T1A version was developed in more detail as a light tactical support aircraft that can be equipped with two AIM-9L Sidewinder air-to-air missiles and an Aden central platform.
