PE-2 (Pedestrian aircraft, model E) is a Soviet twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft of the Second World War. It was developed in 1939 and was used in many combat operations, including on the Eastern Front. The PE-2 was known for its speed and maneuverability, making it effective in both bomber and assault missions.
In some modifications it was used with RS-132 unguided missiles. These were Soviet aircraft missiles of 132 mm caliber, designed to attack ground targets. The missiles were mounted on suspensions under the wings of the PE-2 aircraft and were used to destroy armored vehicles, manpower and other targets on the ground. This gave the PE-2 additional capabilities in the fight against ground targets in addition to its main bombing and attack missions.
