The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multi-role aircraft with a duck-triangle wing. It is designed and built by a consortium of three separate partner companies: Alenia, BAE Systems and EADS, operating through the holding company Eurofighter GmbH, which was established in 1986. Series production of the Eurofighter Typhoon continues and the aircraft are being procured. under three separate contracts, each for aircraft with progressively greater capabilities. The aircraft entered service with the Royal Air Force of Great Britain, Luftwaffe of Germany, Air Force of Italy, Air Force of Spain and Air Force of Austria. Saudi Arabia has signed a contract for 72 aircraft worth £4.43 billion.
