The FCM 50T is a French post-war heavy tank project, developed shortly after World War II, when the French army was looking for a replacement for the Panther tanks received as war reparations and the domestic ARL 44 tank.
The project, created in late 1945 by Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée (FCM) as an alternative to developments such as the AMX-50, reflected the then-modern concepts of armored vehicles and was influenced by later German tank solutions. The development did not go beyond the design stage and was not implemented.
