KV-7 is an experienced Soviet heavy self-propelled artillery unit (ACS) during the Great Patriotic War.
This combat vehicle was developed by the design bureau of the Chelyabinsk Kirov Plant (ChKZ) in November 1941 under the leadership of Joseph Yakovlevich Kotin, the chief designer of domestic heavy tanks and self-propelled guns of that time. L.E. Sychev (leading engineer), G.N. Moskvin, weapons designers of the Ural Heavy Machine Building Plant (UZTM) K.N. Ilyin and G.S. Efimov also took part in the creation of the KV-7. The machine was the first heavy self-propelled guns built in the USSR during the Great Patriotic War.
