T-64A (Object 434) is a Soviet medium and main battle tank, developed in the early 1960s at the Kharkov Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau. Serially produced since 1969 in parallel with the medium and main battle tanks T-55, T-62 and T-64. Initially it had the designation “T-64 tank with D-81 smoothbore gun”.
