The M551 "Sheridan" AR/AAV is a light tank manufactured in the United States, named after the Civil War general Philip Sheridan. It was created for parachute landing and river crossing. It was armed with a technically advanced, but problematic 152 mm M81/M81 Modified/M81E1 rocket launcher, which used both conventional ammunition and MGM-51 Shillelagh guided anti-tank missiles.
