The Junkers Ju 88 was a twin-engine, multi-role Luftwaffe aircraft of World War II. The aircraft was developed by the Hugo Junkers company in the mid-1930s, as part of a project to develop a "fast bomber" (German: Schnellbomber), and was supposed to be faster than any fighter of the period, the aircraft had a number of technical problems late in its development , but this did not prevent it from becoming one of the most versatile combat aircraft of the war.
