North American Aviation T-6 Texan is a light American training aircraft. It was used to train fighter pilots in the US Army, US Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and in the post-war period - until the 1950s. Depending on the modification and country of operation, the aircraft had different names: AT-6 in the military air force and USAAF, SNJ in the US Navy and Harvard in the countries of the British Commonwealth. From 1948, the newly formed US Air Force assigned it the designation T-6, and the US Navy adopted this designation in 1962.
