The Staghound armored car was developed in the United States at the beginning of World War II based on English specifications that required a wheeled reconnaissance vehicle with a high level of protection, therefore, with strong armor, good weapons and high mobility. This large armored car was created according to the Chevrolet project, which, after a large series of evaluations and tests, was put into production at the end of 1942, too late to be sent to the English units operating in North Africa. The Staghound was delivered to units in the spring of 1943 and made its debut during the Italian campaign, where it was used by British and Polish reconnaissance units. D
