The chassis of the self-propelled gun was developed on the basis of components and assemblies of the light tank Pz.Kpfw. 38(t).
Samohoka was fully armored, and the frontal armor 60 mm thick at a large angle of inclination could only hold fragments, but also shells of tank guns.
