M3 VDA (Véhicule de Défense Antiaérienne) Anti-aircraft variant armed with twin 20mm Hispano-Suiza 820 SL autocannons in a single turret. Armament has a maximum angle of +85° and a fall of -5°, as well as a cyclic rate of fire of 200-1000 rounds per minute, if the machine is stabilized by four hydraulic jacks. There are 650 20 mm caliber shells on board. The tower has full power and can be rotated 360° in three seconds or raised to maximum height in two seconds. It is also equipped with an ESD RA-20 Doppler radar capable of simultaneously tracking four approaching targets at a range of 8 km. The VDA was the heaviest variant of the M3 ever put into production, weighing in at over 7 tons.
