BRDM-2 (Armored Reconnaissance and Patrol Vehicle-2) is a further development of the BRDM-1. Serially produced from 1963 to 1989 by the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant (as well as under license in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia). The BRDM-2 has low security, the armor protects against small arms bullets and shrapnel. The main feature of the car is a very high cross-country ability.
