The LAV-R is an all-terrain all-weather vehicle with night gear capability. This vehicle is capable of safely lifting inverted LAVs, minimizing additional damage. It has tactical mobility to reach and recover/maintain disabled vehicles. The machine is capable of towing a disabled LAV with suspension damage. It can be air transported by C-130, C-141, C-5 and CH-53 E aircraft. It has 200 completed rounds and 800 7.62mm rounds in the combat load. There are 8 ready shots and 8 stacked smoke grenades. The car can be made fully amphibious within 3 minutes.
