A traditional trawler built by Anciens Chantiers Dubigeon (ACD) in Nantes, Volontaire (SM767) was launched in February 1950. She was armed with the Malo Trawler Association and her home port was Saint Malo in Brittany. The MARIE JEANNE was her sister ship, homeported at KONKARNO. Very modern for the time, it was powered by a BW (Burmeister and Wain) 1100hp diesel engine. Originally designed to be fished from both sides, it was later modified to remove the trawl gallows from the port side. Decommissioned in the early 1970s, it was dismantled in Bilbao in March 1973.
