The single-seat fighter was the main fighter of the Regia Aeronautica (Air Force of Italy) in the initial period of the Second World War. The aircraft was developed in the design bureau of the Fiat company under the leadership of Celestino Rosatella. Fiat CR.42 became the crown of the evolution of fighters created by Rosatella.
