T-72B (Object 184) - Soviet main battle tank of the T-72 family. The tank was designed in the process of improving the T-72A. Development work was carried out from 1981 to 1984. Adoption took place in 1984.
Serial production started in 1985. The tank was the third generation of MBT due to the dynamic protection "Contact", a more advanced FCS with a two-plane stabilizer of the 2E42-2 gun for firing on the move and a guided weapon system 9K120 "Svir" with a sight-guidance device 1K13-49.
