The M2 Bradley is a US infantry fighting vehicle named after General Omar Bradley. Created in the second half of the 1970s on the basis of the XM723 prototype, taking into account the experience of combat use of the Soviet BMP-1, the design features of the German Marder BMP as a better protected and armed replacement for the M113 armored personnel carriers.
The M2 BMP has a crew of three and can carry up to six infantrymen in the troop compartment. On its basis, the M3 Bradley Cavalry Fighting Vehicle was created. The Bradley infantry fighting vehicle entered service in 1981; a total of 9,753 copies of all variants were produced. Used by US troops in the Gulf Wars, Iraq and Afghanistan. Also used by the Ukrainian army in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
