The 508 CM was a light two-wheeled vehicle used by German and Italian forces during World War II, almost exclusively in the desert environments of North Africa. The 508 line was originally developed in the private sector in the late 1930s and was later developed as a platform on which several variants were produced for wartime military service.
The powerplant of the 508s was an in-line four-cylinder with a volume of 1100 cc, capable of producing up to 32 hp. The Coloniale 508 version has been adapted to avoid getting sand and sinking in soft terrain. Although usually used for headquarters operations and transport officers, this adapted version was also well equipped with larger tires and a reliable engine to be used for advanced reconnaissance missions as well.
