USS NEW YORK (BB-34) was the first US Navy New York-class battleship, laid down at the Brooklyn shipyard in 1911, launched in 1912, commissioned in 1914 and became the first ship to equipped with a 14-inch main gun.
In 1917, NEW YORK was assigned to British waters and assisted the British Grand Fleet, mainly in charge of blockades and escorts.
NEW YORK Returned to training and participated in various problem-solving exercises, undergoing modernization in 1926.
