HMS Prince of Wales (His Majesty's Ship "Prince of Wales") is a British battleship of the King George V class. It became the second ship in the series. Built at the Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead, England. The Prince of Wales entered service in January 1941 and during its short service managed to take part in several naval operations of the Second World War: the battle with the German battleship Bismarck, escorting convoys to Malta, as well as in the battle off Kuantan, during which 10 On December 1941, the Prince of Wales was sunk by Japanese aircraft.
