Assembly model 1/35 Torpedo boat with crew Vosper MTB 74 Italeri 5624
On 28 March 1942, the Navy and British commandos carried out a joint operation to disable a large dry dock in the French port of Saint-Nazaire, which was occupied by German troops. The operation was carried out by several torpedo fighters and a flotilla of motor boats designed to transport commandos. The operation was successful, the dry dock was damaged and fell into disrepair until the end of the war. The decisive role was played by the fast and light attack boats MTB 74, which were specially modified at the Royal Navy shipyards for these purposes. The task of these boats was to hit anti-submarine nets and then launch torpedoes.
