The Su-27 (NATO reporting name - Flanker) is a Soviet heavy multi-purpose highly maneuverable all-weather fighter of the fourth generation. Created with the aim of gaining air superiority. Developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau, operation in the Air Force began in 1985, but was officially adopted only in 1990.
In early September 2022, photographs of a Ukrainian Su-27 with a suspended pair of AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles were distributed. And in August 2023, it became known that Ukrainian Su-27s were adapted to drop JDAM-ER guided bombs.
