The F6F-3 Hellcat is one of the variants of the American F6F Hellcat fighter, developed by Grumman and used by the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps during World War II.
The F6F-3 was a single-seat, all-metal, low-wing monoplane with a rugged design, designed for anti-aircraft combat and defense against Japanese aircraft. The Hellcat was designed for air superiority and combat against enemy fighters.

The aircraft was powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-2800-10 Double Wasp, a twelve-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing approximately 2,000 horsepower.

The F6F-3 was armed with six 0.50-inch (12.7 mm) Browning M2 machine guns mounted in the wings. It could also carry a variety of external weapons, including bombs and torpedoe
