A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American armored single-seat attack aircraft designed to destroy tanks, armored vehicles and other ground targets. Named after the World War II P-47 Thunderbolt fighter-bomber.
A-10C: an updated model of the A-10. Equipped with modern digital equipment, capable of carrying high-precision weapons with a laser guidance system. The first A-10C entered service in 2006. It is planned to convert all A-10s remaining in service to this modification by 2011. The cost of the program is estimated at $420 million.
