The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is a German World War II fighter aircraft designed by Willy Messerschmitt in the early 1930s. It was one of the first true modern fighters of the era, incorporating features such as an all-metal monocoque, enclosed canopy and retractable undercarriage. Having received its baptism of fire in the Spanish Civil War, the Bf 109 was still in service at the dawn of the jet age at the end of World War II, during which it was the backbone of the German Luftwaffe's fighter force.
The second major redesign of the Bf109 is the F series. The Friedrich had completely redesigned wings, cooling and fuselage aerodynamics, and was powered by either the 1,175 PS DB 601N (F-1, F-2) or the 1,350 PS DB 601E (F-3, F - 4). C
